Just making plans

Hi Dan, I have to say that I am so glad that I found your site. I am very interested in building my own house but what holds me up is a lack of experience.

I am a cabinet maker by trade and I have been certified as a journeyman since 1989 , so in regards to building a house I know that the finishing would be a breeze.

I grew up on a farm and one of my earliest construction memories is that of helping to shingle our house. I have also sided and done the soffits and facia on houses. I have done many different things that would carry over into the building of a house,drywall,painting,tile work, flooring..You get the picture.

There are questions that I hope you might be able to shed light on. Questions such as time that should be expected to do certain tasks and the specifics of other things....well Dan....lots of questions.

I cannot seem to find any sites that have what I am looking for. Your site is far and away the best I have encountered and to be able to draw on your personally experiences is fantastic.
